The idea for the Homebound Issue came from my own personal experience of moving back to Nigeria after years abroad. The process of relocating can be a difficult transition and I wanted to put together an issue that documented the journey. Finding your foothold in a place you once called home, yet now find unfamiliar brings about many questions. This issue explores the emotions that arise in rediscovering home and re-strengthening your roots.

With this issue we launched a new series called Start-Up Stories, which chronicles business and entrepreneurship endeavours on the continent. You can also look forward to a book review of Americanah, an exploration of African Men’s fashion with Ikiré Jones, music by Osekre and the Lucky Bastards and a new entry in our popular, My Afropolitan Diary series. The cover image for this issue was shot by Mohini Ufeli.
